Want to join the team of volunteers who help to operate Annadel, Jack London and Sugarloaf Ridge state parks? There is a commitment of only four hours per month and you will receive a park pass for your service.
Volunteers are needed to work in the entrance stations and visitor centers, lead tours, work as docents in the museum and cottage, drive golf carts, play piano, help with administrative/office duties, park and trail maintenance, patrol the trails and assist with special events. No experience is required.
Jack London is operated by Jack London Park Partners and Sugarloaf Ridge State Park is operated by Team Sugarloaf. These parks receive no state funding and rely on volunteers to help operate the parks.
Trainings are specific to park and activity.
On Saturday, Feb. 27, there will be a volunteer Trail Patrol training (horse, bike or foot) for volunteers in all three parks, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Saturday, March 12, there will be a general volunteer training at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jack London State Park will hold training on two Saturdays, April 2 and 16, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteers must be able to make both days.
For information and to sign up, please contact Susan St. Marie, sstmarie@jacklondonpark.com or 938-4827. For Annadel volunteer activities other than Trail Patrol, please contact Sarah Reid, sarah.reid@parks.ca.gov.
